An online study from JAMA Neurology published April 18, 2016 showed that for those age 70-75, common medications like Chlor-Trimeton, Benadryl, Antivert, Dramamine, Ditropan, and Paxil can result in poorer cognition, lower brain volumes and less glucose metabolism in the whole brain and the temporal lobe than the control group.

This study was a long and deep one (8 years, 402 subjects) and the results were measured from brain MRIs and Positron Emission Tomography.
